Bayab Gin Founders, Chris Frederick and Damola Timeyin's journey started 20 years ago, meeting as University friends in the city of Leeds, UK. Many years later at a bar enjoying a drink, they asked themselves the question;
"Why is every continent represented in bars around the world, apart from Africa?"
This question inspired former publican Chris and marketeer Damola to begin a journey that has taken them back to their heritage, to produce a gin that represents the best of Africa and their motherland in a bottle.They are on a mission to put Africa on every back bar in the world, so they can connect the world to the Africa they know and love.

Bayab was created to share Africa’s original flavours with the world. Our founders set out to make a gin that feels modern, inclusive and vibrant, a gin born from the continent but crafted with global quality standards.
Our home is in the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal, where we distil Bayab using a blend of locally grown and continentally sourced botanicals. Baobab fruit sits at the heart of our flavour, giving natural citrus lift and roundness.
Bayab brings something different to the global gin landscape: bold flavour, cultural warmth, and a bright, balanced finish that invites discovery.
